Bio

As a kid growing up in Fayetteville, North Carolina I only ever remember loving movies. The oldest of six in a big, film-obsessed family, my parents introduced all of us to the classics before we could even walk. Watching movies in my early childhood I saw something beyond just the screen: I felt the magic of filmmaking! I shared this passion with my parents and they helped dust off their old VHS camcorder from the attic. I began making stop-motion experiments with my Star Wars and G.I. Joe action figures. Soon I evolved to making live action short films with my younger siblings as my talent, filming anything we could come up with. My parents continued to nurture my creative drive, buying me my very own Mini-DV camcorder + editing software. Since then I’ve been off to the races; chasing that childlike wonder of storytelling and creativity.

My love of filmmaking + community led me to the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) where I connected with other artists as focused and driven as I was. I graduated with a BFA in Filmmaking in 2016 and that Summer made the trek across the country to Los Angeles. I began working professionally as a camera assistant, operator, and cinematographer where I joined the union in the International Cinematographers Guild Local 600 in 2019. Since moving to L.A. I've worked on film productions of all sizes — commercials, features, and television shows. My career has taken me places I’d never dreamt of seeing. The people I’ve met throughout this journey — college buddies turned life-long collaborators and the countless individuals I’ve encountered while working on film sets all over the globe — they’ve all deeply inspired me. I’m fascinated by what drives people, what shapes them, and I find endless creative fuel in the diversity of our human experience. I believe in the power of storytelling not just to entertain, but to build bridges between our lives and maybe share with the world that we're more similar then we are different.

Over the past year, alongside my wife, Emily (a professional ballerina and creative collaborator), I’ve stepped into the next chapter of my journey and back to my original passion: DIRECTING. I’ve been drawn to stories that feel lived in — intimate, physical, and grounded in emotional truth. I want to bring a fresh and exciting perspective to communities and clients that share a similar story and want to show audiences visuals and emotions they’ve never seen before. Whether that’s an individual’s story or what a brand may represent.

This site is a testimony of who I am, my portfolio and and more importantly an invitation… Let’s make something impactful together.

Peace,
